Humanitarian action by the Karkariya in Gamboru (Nigeria)

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

و على اله و اصحابه أجمعين

Gamboru, also called Gamboru Ngala, is a town in north-eastern Nigeria. It was devastated in 2014 by the jihadist violence of Boko Haram. Although the region was pacified some years later, the conflict has left the local population in a very precarious situation. Families are desperately short of food and medical care and must survive on less than a litre of drinking water a day.

The Karkariya Sufi Order, which organises humanitarian actions almost everywhere in the world, wished, like the many existing NGOs, to do its part.

Allah ﷻ says: “And they ask you about orphans. Say: doing good to them is the best of deeds.” (Qur’an 2:220).

The Prophet ﷺ said: “I and the one who takes care of an orphan will be in Paradise like this.” And he showed two of his fingers side by side. (Muslim).
