Humanitarian action by the Karkariya in Ghana

Whoever observes the actions undertaken by this Sufi path will notice, or feel, an unusual flow among the Karkari disciples in the way they put into practice the precepts and teachings of the Karkariya, in order to realise themselves on their journey and to follow their Shaykh, Sidi Mohamed Faouzi Al Karkari, may Allah sanctify his secret.
In this regard, the Karkariya Sufi Order built a few days ago, in collaboration with a Ghanaian non-profit association, a well in Nanankor, a community of small villages and farming hamlets in eastern Ghana whose inhabitants suffer from glaring need. There is little electricity, the roads are in poor condition and access to healthcare is non-existent. Yet, like the whole country, the greatest need is for drinking water, since before this humanitarian initiative of the Karkariya, the inhabitants of Nanankor fetched their water from the river, which constantly threatened their health.

In their speeches of thanks, the inhabitants who benefited from the action wished to stress the strong bonds of brotherhood between the President of Ghana, Mr Nana Akufo-Addo, and His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
They also expressed all their gratitude to the Shaykh of the Karkariya Sufi Order, Sidi Mohamed Faouzi Al Karkari, and to his Ghanaian disciples.
What caused astonishment is that, despite their needs in terms of electricity, medical care and more, the inhabitants of Nanankor expressed their wish to one day have a mosque in which to hold the communal prayer.
