The Shaykh's encouragement and advice – Paris (02/04/2017)
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
و الصلاة و السلام على أشرف المرسلين
و على اله و اصحابه أجمعين
Sunday, a calmer day with only the disciples present, was an opportunity for the Shaykh to encourage the disciples to bring forth the Science of the Handful of Light. This divine Light that the Shaykh transmits from heart to heart to the disciple.
But it is customary among the Sufis to precede speech with dhikr (just as action takes priority over speech in the sunna).
This afternoon, in private, was an occasion for the Shaykh to remind us of the responsibility that falls on us with regard to spreading the divine Mercy. He took several disciples as examples, highlighting the fields in which, with the divine Light, they make efforts and draw out the Sciences.
The aim was to encourage the disciples to make efforts and to focus on the activity that concerns them. Some will lean towards the mathematical sciences, others towards medicine, law, jurisprudence, herbalism, art, music, and so on.
Each of these examples can find a livelier and greater dimension through the divine Light, where today they have reached their limit through traditional learning (books).
It is also an opportunity for people outside the Karkariya Sufi Order to become aware of the sciences that the Shaykh teaches his disciples and in which branches he pushes them to grow.
Each disciple is exactly where Allah – exalted be He – has placed him. Each has a share in the Science that the Shaykh possesses.
