The Karkariya brings joy to the inhabitants of two Senegalese villages

The Karkariya Sufi Order continues its humanitarian and charitable momentum internationally, notably on the African continent. These humanitarian actions form part, let us recall, of the field actions carried out by the Karkariya Sufi Order to fight the socio-economic and human impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

So, after initiatives recently undertaken in Togo, Cameroon and the Philippines, it was the turn of the friendly country Senegal, where on Thursday 28 May 2020 the disciples of this Moroccan Sufi path brought enormous joy to the hearts of the inhabitants of the villages of Siiw and Tanguis, near the town of Nguekokh, through a distribution of bags of foodstuffs. An event that literally made the women of the two villages jump for joy, since they improvised dances for the occasion, so much did these foodstuffs soothe their hearts!
On this occasion, the chiefs of the two villages wished to express their thanks to the Karkariya Sufi Order and to Shaykh Sidi Mohamed Faouzi Al Karkari: “Your presence brings us enormous happiness. We are happy about this gesture of the Karkariya Sufi Order and we thank you warmly for it. We also thank Shaykh Mohamed Faouzi Al Karkari and we pray Allah to grant you your hopes and reward you through the baraka of our Prophet, may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him. You have been a great help to us in these hard times and we will never cease to thank you for it. We hope you will continue to help us.”

It must be noted that this initiative of the Karkariya Sufi Order echoes perfectly, in a practical and pragmatic way, the royal proposals of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, following the telephone conversations His Majesty had with His Excellency Alassane Dramane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Ivory Coast, and His Excellency Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, last April on account of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a reminder, His Majesty King Mohammed VI had proposed the launch of a pragmatic, action-oriented initiative allowing the sharing of experiences and good practices, to face the health, economic and social impact of the pandemic. These latest humanitarian and charitable initiatives of the Karkariya Sufi Order remind us of what some observers had stressed, through the media, as soon as this Moroccan Sufi path began to be talked about.
And notably what its disciples, from all social classes and scattered to the four corners of the world, never cease to repeat: that their Tariqa “would experience a meteoric expansion, insofar as the foundations of the spiritual path that lead the murid to divine knowledge draw their resources from the purely Sufi tradition, based notably on doing good to creatures. But which draws its main asset above all from the fact that the Murid walks the path through the divine Light, or what the Sufis call ‘shuhud al-Haqq’.
And the facts are there! The ranks of this Moroccan Sufi path never cease to grow, and new disciples from every continent join the Karkariya Sufi Order. So every week a hundred or so new disciples pledge their spiritual allegiance. The seat of the Karkariya Zawiya in Al-Aroui thus becomes an unmissable destination for these disciples in quest of ‘maqam al-ihsan’, in accordance with the Sunni Sufism of al-Junayd, one of the sacred foundations of the Kingdom of Morocco.
Still within the framework of the actions carried out by the Karkariya Sufi Order, let us note that some of its disciples will take part, on 30 May, in the webinar “Africa at the Summit”, an event held under the patronage of Jerry Rawlings John with the panel “what are the roles and the importance of spiritual intelligence in Africa”.
This webinar, which will be presented by Nasrallah Belkhayate, President of the Africanity Trophy Foundation, will be broadcast on various social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube. The representatives of the Karkariya Sufi Order will try to offer their answers to the theme to be addressed on this occasion, in the light of the various actions carried out by this Sufi path at the African level in recent times.
