Visit to Sidi Shaykh’s birthplace

A few days ago, a group of fuqara in Morocco undertook, with the Shaykh’s permission, a siyaha in which they linked the zawiya of al-Araoui with the zawiya (and mosque) of Sidi Mawlay Tahir and Mulay Hassan (may Allah be pleased with them) in Temsaman (a town in the Moroccan Rif). This siyaha is highly symbolic, because it recalls an anecdote in the biography of our shaykh (may Allah sanctify his secret): the one in which he went, in total self-stripping (barefoot, head and beard shaved), on foot to his shaykh Sidi Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him). Our shaykh Sidi Mohamed Faouzi Al-Karkari (may Allah sanctify his secret) thought he was going blind and about to suffer a punishment when his sight was entirely covered with Light. But it was only his Lord manifesting Himself through His Light, leaving room for no illusory form. Finally, for the Karkari disciples, the greatest blessing of this journey is above all the possibility of visiting the birthplace of their shaykh. A place that saw the birth of the chosen one of this century.

The shaykh and other fuqara gathered at the blessed place, at the zawiya of Sidi Moulay Tahir, where he is buried with his son (Moulay Hassan), to welcome the travellers. It was thus an occasion for everyone to gather and to visit the shuyukh of our silsila (namely Sidi Moulay Tahir and Sidi Moulay Hassan), as is customary every year.
