Karkari presence at Le Bourget 2014

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
و الصلاة و السلام على أشرف المرسلين
و على اله و اصحابه أجمعين KARKARI PRESENCE AT LE BOURGET 2014 31st Gathering The aim: This visit is twofold: to make new acquaintances among the Muslims of France in order to present our path of inner purification (the Karkariya Sufi Order), but also, more broadly, to present an alternative to a practice in France that has shown its limits in the field of spirituality. One now feels an emptiness in the Islam that has been offered in France for 20 years, and tasawwuf, little known and forgotten, is a complementary dimension that must be integrated into our lives. We came to remind of this in all modesty. Pointers to explain our garment: In this subject we wish to remind the critics of our dress of the symbols it contains, hoping (by Allah and the baraka of Sidi Shaykh Mohammed Fawzi ElKarkarry, may Allah sanctify his secret) that they will look at this garment with a deeper eye than what could be read on Facebook, I quote: “puppets; looks like Muslim hippies lol; Recycling…. they are Muslim Greens; Sufis of a tariqa of dancers; what is this outfit???” I remind you that we have a great sense of humour, and it is better to have one when wearing this garment. What are these symbols, non-exhaustively? The social aspect of the Muraqqa‘a or Darbala or patched Sufi garment: – Le Bourget fair is also a means, during the year, of looking at a real sample of the diversity of Muslims in a society that is itself diverse. We all know that it is difficult to accept everyone’s ideas, or at least to tolerate them, or to accept people in their diversity (styles, customs, origin, etc.). This garment is meant to be the reflection of this diversity. – It is also a call to the universal love of everyone, because Allah willed this diversity, Allah willed believers and unbelievers, Allah willed a Muslim to be a Muslim and a Jew to be a Jew, Allah willed other creeds; this garment reminds us of that too. For the Karkari, when he puts on this garment he must also accept this and make the effort to achieve it, without which this garment is useless to him. – This garment runs against the current of the society of appearances in order to return to being and to exist only in the symbol of the shahada explained below.
For the religious symbols: – It has 12 colours, the number of letters that make up the word of Oneness “la ilaha illa Allah”: this means that by wearing this garment one clothes oneself in this word and disappears behind it. It is not ostentation, because nowadays it is not easy to defend this form of Sufism, so many are the attacks from all sides, even in the most moderate ranks. – It is a reminder of the worthlessness of this life, confirmed in the hadiths, and that one should take only what is necessary without excess, in the image of our example par excellence. – Each colour is linked to a divine name (to put it simply) – On certain parts of the garment one sees the letter ‘HA’: the last letter of Allah, in the form of a circle, to recall that Allah encompasses all things, and what better representation of that than the circle. This is how the Karkari reads in his garment, a clown’s, puppet’s etc. for the critics, but know that with us it is the garment of faith.
