The Karkaris bring aid to Rohingya Muslims

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

و على اله و اصحابه أجمعين

Whenever Myanmar (Burma) is mentioned, one expects the news to concern the massacre of the Rohingya Muslims. In case you do not know, our Rohingya brothers do not enjoy a nationality and are constantly subjected to oppression. The United Nations itself has recognised that the Muslims of Burma are deprived of their citizenship by the country’s government as a “religious minority exposed to the most inhumane oppression in the world”.

It is in this distant country that this time the Karkari disciples carried out a humanitarian operation aimed at bringing a little comfort to our Muslim brothers. The operation took place in Maungdaw, a town in Rakhine State, in the western part of Myanmar (Burma). It is a town that borders Bangladesh and has a large Rohingya community. The beneficiaries were Muslim families, totally destitute, to whom bags of foodstuffs and basic necessities were distributed.

This operation, like all those carried out almost everywhere in the world in recent times by the Karkariya Sufi Order, takes place in accordance with the educational and spiritual foundations of this Moroccan Sufi path and goes hand in hand with the positions of the sharifian Moroccan kingdom on the inhumane situation of the Rohingya Muslim minority in Burma.

The families that benefited from this humanitarian action did not let the occasion pass without thanking Morocco and its people, as well as the Karkari disciples and their Shaykh, Sidi Mohamed Faouzi Al Karkari.
